Republican Rep. Jack Kingston of Georgia said his party needs to do a better job of explaining the need for government job cuts.

"The private sector has had to reduce the number of jobs in order to be competitive," he said, "and I think now the public sector is going to have to reduce some of their jobs in order to stay lean, or try to get lean."

Besides, Kingston said, government workers "tend to justify their jobs by coming up with more regulations on the private sector, and that kills jobs."

Sure, because ALL employees of the Federal Government, no matter their job or grade level, does nothing but sit around trying to dream up new regulations. Riiiight. Ignorant much??

Cutting off food to children is not a way to increase jobs, but a way to increase suffering and in the long run cost jobs. There is no easy answer, I would think that now would be a perfect time to double-down and invest heavily in education to prepare for the next wave of growth and allow us to compete globally, but appears that education too is being cut. This is really no more then an example of why supply-side, trickle-down economics does not work. (Cite: Hoover, Reagan, Bush II), all three increased debt, and cost jobs. Obama is practicing a compromise trickle-down which is death at a slower pace.
