Moving to DC temporarily

Recommended Posts

Guest Sam Lowery

Hello.

I am in need of honest opinions on where to find new home and condominium developments within and along/near the Washington Beltway known as Interstate 495.

I have no idea why I might want to be as I have not been to DC and my new 7-year contract starting in June, will require visiting different locations around the city.

I am ready to buy now, but I don't know how much I should spend, and I don't even know if I want a house, or a condo. Convenience is important, and I think I want something brand new, so I might need to rent for a little while.

Please pass on any advise you can, as I may soon be your new neighbor.

Thanks so much, and cheers to you,

If it needs to be brand new, there's a new high rise in Rockville, Maryland, about two miles outside the Beltway there's a place called White Flint Station. If you don't like those, you're going to be doing a lot of research (probably you will be anyway...) and if you DO like them, expect to spend 300-700k. Real estate in Metro DC is not cheap!!!
