Planning on moving to D.C.

Hey there. I graduated college recently and I've decided that I want to find a job in Washington, D.C. I've been looking for a while (with not much success, unfortunately) but I've neglected one of the most important parts: actually finding out what it's like to live there!

I've never been to D.C. before, so I have a few questions.

What are the good areas to look for housing? I'm going to utilize craigslist for this, but I need to find out which areas are somewhat safe and close enough to everything.

I've heard the weather can be a bit inhospitable at times, so what kinds of clothing would you recommend?

What is there to do in the city? What's the night life like?

Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Also, I'm looking to meet some people as well so that I have some friends when I move! My email is alexanderbunte@gmail.com

There are many great places in the District. Two questions that I have for you.

What is your budget? Have you ever lived in a city before?

Clothing is seasonal. Spring and Fall light sweaters. Summer light cotton. Winter wool.

There is something for everyone. I tend to go Adams Morgan and Chinatown. There are great bars to choose from.
