The newest Metro audiocast, dated October 30, is now available to customers on www.metroopensdoors.com and on iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact their weekend travel.

The “On Track” audiocast posted today tells listeners about Metrorail track work that will cause delays on the Blue, Orange and Green lines this weekend. There is also information about Metrobus detours and elevator rehabilitations at Anacostia, Potomac Ave and Shaw-Howard U Metrorail stations. For a complete list of closings, detours and delays, visit www.metroopensdoors.com, scroll over “Alerts & advisories” on the left-hand side of the page and select “Service disruptions.”

The audiocast also tells listeners about “slippery rail season,” when leaves fall onto Metrorail tracks and can cause service delays. There is also information about events such as Halloween in Georgetown on October 31, DC Zombie Lurch at the Washington Monument on November 1, the Washington Redskins football game on November 3 and the Washington Capitals hockey game on November 6.

Online users can download audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices. The Metro audiocast is available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTune store for “On Track” in the title. Podcasts can be subscribed to on iTunes and users automatically receive each week’s downloads.
