Son of Democratic State Legislator Suspected of Hacking Palin’s E-Mail

The FBI searched the apartment of David Kernell the 20-year-old son of Tennessee state representative Mike Kernell over the weekend, the Associated Press reported.

 

Last week a hacker broke into Palin's personal Yahoo account, revealing a few inconsequential personal messages as evidence of the deed. Afterward a person claiming responsibility published a detailed chronology of how it was done.

 

That person used an email address identified with Kernell's son, AP reported.

 

The hacker broke into the account by researching and guessing enough of Palin's personal information to trick Yahoo into resetting her password.

 

The FBI traced the hacker to an internet anonymity service basd in the US state of Georgia. The owner of the service handed over its logs to the FBI, who further traced the hack to the Tennessee apartment of Mike Kernell's son.

 

let there be no doubt that partisan politicians would have used information that would do considerable damage to their opponents, if the hacker would have discovered it in her Yahoo! account.

 

Tenn. attorney Wade V. Davies. Davies released a statement to the media on Tuesday.

 

"I have been asked by the Kernell family to represent their son, David. This is a difficult time for David and his family. The Kernell family wants to do the right thing, and they want what is best for their son," Davies said in the statement. "We are confident that the truth will emerge as we go through the process. David is a decent and intelligent young man, and I look forward to assisting him during this difficult period."

 

Could Representative Kernell have coerced his son into finding information for the Democratic Party. Smells like Watergate to me. Stay tuned and give the Representative a call.
