Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45) today praised House passage of a House resolution honoring the life and achievements of Frank Sinatra. The bill, passed today by an overwhelming vote of 402-3, declares Tuesday, March 13, as “Frank Sinatra Day.” A new 42-cent commemorative Sinatra stamp was also unveiled on March 13. Bono Mack issued the following statement:

“Frank Sinatra was a legend, a humanitarian, and a truly beloved member of our Desert community,” said Bono Mack. “Frank was generous with his talent, often performing at local charity events and giving of his time to benefit others. Perhaps one of the greatest gifts Frank brought to the Desert was his wife, Barbara. Together, Frank and Barbara have truly enriched our region, including by establishing the state-of-the-art Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center. Their many contributions have made a lasting impact on our community, on the nation and the world. ‘Ol’ Blue Eyes’ will always have a special place in our hearts and in our memories.”
