Psycho Posted May 17, 2008 Report Share Posted May 17, 2008 AND THE NANNY STATE SAYS D.C. Councilman Jim Graham is proposing a citywide ban on sales of single cans and bottles of beer. Such a ban is in place for Ward 4 because of problems with public drunkenness, litter and alcohol abuse. The DC City Council has imposed single-sale bans in neighborhoods like Mount Pleasant in Northwest and H Street in Northeast. Bans also have been approved for wards 7 and 8. Graham said he's exploring a citywide ban. He said he's considering whether a citywide ban would be more efficient. What Graham is saying is, you and cannot be trusted to hold your liquor and we need the nanny state to regulate us.
