City Launches Mobile One-Stop Career Center


Taking Employment and Literacy Resources to the Community




(Washington, D.C.) Mayor Anthony Williams and the D.C. Department of Employment Services (DOES) Office of Faith and Community-Based Partnerships will officially launch the new One-Stop Mobile Career Center at a ceremony on Monday, September 29, 2003. The Mayor is expected to tour the Center and will demonstrate its mobility in taking services to the community.




This One-Stop Mobile Career Center will go to neighborhoods and worksites throughout the city and provide direct access to employment and literacy services for unemployed and underemployed workers. The mobile center is equipped with state-of-the-art computers, a telecommunications device, wheelchair accommodations and environmental controls for the comfort and safety of clients utilizing its services.
