Web Applications Engineer/Analyst

 

Washington D.C.

Part Time or Temporary: Full-time (1st shift)

Contract position

Must be authorized to work for ANY US employer.

 

MUST POSSESS OR BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A SECRET CLEARANCE

Existing Clearance Preferred.

 

Must be willing to carry a cell phone 24/7/365 and be a strong team player.

 

Job Description:

The Web Applications Engineer/Analyst is responsible for performing

--Web code reviews and conducting interoperability testing on web applications being hosted in the BICE architecture;

--maintaining operational status of the BICE/DHS Web/Application environments;

--designing, configuring, implementing, and maintaining an infrastructure to provide a standardized hosting environment for BICE/DHS Web-based applications;

--performing maintenance of the web sites; and updating, maintaining, and developing Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) documentation.

 

Educational Requirements:

B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)

 

Required Skills:

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with MS Windows 2000 Server for Web/Application servers utilizing Internet Information Server (IIS).

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with J2EE application servers

and J2EE development including:

--exposure to JSP

--Servlets

--JDBC, and

--MS VB/ASP.

*Strong professional organization skills and trouble resolution skills are required.

 

Desired Skills: --Knowledge of .NET technologies and UNIX administration a plus.

--Knowledge of Department of Homeland Security (former INS).

--Experience with the SDLC process.
