    Blue Valentine, the movie

It's been critically acclaimed and although the two stars' (Ryan Gossling and Michelle Williams) performances were, at times, "difficult to watch," their depth of character(s) made it worth the while. As an interesting side note, the screenplay was written by three people rather than the usual one -Cupid
  3. You and your sweetie can enjoy this Incredible rooftop view of Washington this Valentine's Day by just visiting the observation deck of the 315-foot granite Clock Tower located in the Old Post Office Pavilion. See the city's second highest point with 360 degrees of breathtaking spledure to take in. The Clock Tower also houses the Congressional Bells, a bicentennial gift from Great Britain to the U.S. Congress. Modeled after the bells of Westminster Abbey, they were cast at the famed Whitechapel Bell Foundry in London. The Washington Ringing Society sounds them on special occasions as well as Thursday evenings. The National Park Service offers free daily tours of the Clock Tower. Setting The Mood

So where to celebrate it? Valentine's Day has often become a cliché with couples exchanging candy and flowers. However, Washington DC offers many opportunities for spicing up the occasion. Of course, dining out is popular, and DC has some fine romantic spots that offer gourmet meals in stylish, cozy settings. A unique Georgetown location for a special rendezvous is the Washington Harbor located along K St. at the bottom of Wisconsin Ave. The Harbor is home to many fine dining experiences featuring panoramic views of the Kennedy Center and Potomac River. After dining, a stroll along the waterfront amid the sparkling lights of the surrounding trees.[/indent] Of course, many couples will dine out over the Valentine's Day weekend. Prior to a night out, why not treat special Valentine to a full spa day? There are many to choose from in the metropolitan area. There are packages like massage, facial, manicure and blowdry for $114. What better way to pamper a special guy or gal? Washington is a town rich in theaters, art galleries and monuments, and time spent among them can provide romance combined with culture for a Valentine treat. The stately halls of the National Gallery of Art, located along the National Mall, can provide hours of strolling for couples desiring to see a fine collection of art from the Renaissance to present. Finally, why not let the rich history of DC's monuments provide a backdrop for a moonlight stroll or drive? Monuments are lit at night and look all the more stately and majestic in the darkness. Remember, when giving unique gifts this Valentine's Day, remember, less is often more. Either men or women can make a special gift to their Valentine with something as simple as a framed photograph of either themselves or the couple. The photo will certainly last longer than flowers or candy and provides a lasting memory beyond Valentine's Day. Remember, make the spirit of love so prevalent during Valentine's Day last all year!
  5. This is the place in Washington for that perfect moment. One of the more popular spots to propose in DC is the river view at Hains Point. Weather permiting, why not explore "The Awakening" statue in East Side Park for a unique Valentine's Day date this year? Hains Point is in the East Side Park located south of the Jefferson Memorial and the 14th Street Bridge between the Potomac River and the Washington Channel that connects to the Tidal Basin. I have heard this incredible depiction of a 40-foot man awakening out from the Earth has been SOLD! Don't miss seeing one of Washington's artistic treasures. And if you have heard otherwise please reply with more information.

    Blue Valentine, the movie

Another good movie is "Love and Other Drugs" with Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway; It's a fairly decent dramatic comedy, or "dramedy" (sorry), and neither co-star seems to have a problem with spending more than half the movie unclothed. I absolutely love the title of this film, but it can drag on at times, so for that reason I'll give it one thumb up.

    Who is Kim Kardashian?

Cupid thinks the Kardashians are famous for no apparent reason other than their looks. While 2/3 are attractive, they possess no real talents as far as Cupid can see. Their step-father, Bruce Jenner, is an American Olympic decathlete, but that's about it ... maybe you could tell me more about them? The American public's obsession with the Kardashians fascinates Cupid.
  10. I love the "Sweetest Day Message in a Bottle" makes the perfect I Love You gift.
  11. If you want to make saying "I Love You" special in Washington this Valentine's Day, you can do it in stereo! Just visit The Albert Einstein Memorial. For a couple embracing at the epicenter of the circular monument floor, While making direct eye contact with Mr. Einstein, any spoken words are very notably amplified, and freakishly reverberate back at you in stereophonic sound! This is the dramatic affect you've been looking for. It is located in central Washington, D.C., United States, in a grove of trees at the southwest corner of the grounds of the National Academy of Sciences on Constitution Avenue, near to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
  12. On Valentine’s Day, everyone seems to be spilling over with emotion. But sometimes emotions are not the only things that get spilled. That glass of wine in front of the fire, that beautiful box of chocolates, that candlelit dinner when two lovers linger over coffee – these are just a few of the romantic scenarios that have a stain potential. In the spirit of seeing to it that the course of true love runs smoothly (and cleanly!), here are some tips for removing common stains of the day. Before attempting to remove any stain, check to make sure the item is washable. If it isn’t, leave the stain alone, and take it to a professional dry cleaner as soon as possible. For washable items, remove stains as follows; Lipstick stains: remove the stain by scraping it with a dull knife. Shake off any residue. Pretreat it with liquid laundry detergent, and then wash in warm water. Line or air-dry. If stain remains, repeat the procedure. Use chlorine bleach in the wash, if safe for the fabric. Coffee, tea, wine, or alcoholic beverage stains: sponge or soak the stain in cool water. Pretreat with a prewash stain remover, liquid laundry detergent, or a paste of granular laundry detergent and water. Then launder using chlorine bleach, if safe for the fabric, or oxygen bleach. Chocolate stains: should be pretreated with a prewash stain remover, liquid laundry detergent or a paste of granular laundry detergent and water. Launder the item in warm water. If the stain remains, rewash using a bleach that’s safe for the fabric. Children especially love to create their own Valentine’s using red crayons. To remove crayon stains, use a dull knife to scrape off the surface wax. Place the stain between paper towels and press with a warm iron. Replace the paper towels frequently until no more was is absorbed. Place stain face down on clean paper towels. Sponge the remaining stain with a prewash stain remover or cleaning fluid. Blot with paper towels; let dry. Then launder. Now enjoy your Special Valentine no matter what happens.
