The following was emailed early today to 6,000 voters in ward 3 and placed on numerous blogs:




Back in August 2005 when I announced my candidacy by placing
announcements on various blogs, message boards and the like, I
started being attacked with some very vicious allegations that I was
an ex-convict with a record of pedophilia, spousal abuse and more. I
did not know who was doing it.

I hired an IT guy out of Springfield, Virginia to help track down
the culprit and he did. We discovered that despite the various
screen names, the IP ADDRESS were all the same as the IP ADDRESS
belonging to SAM BROOKS.

I was then informed that when SAM BROOKS ran for office previously,
there was a lesser smear campaign launched by SAM BROOKS against
Kwame Brown and Harold Brazil.

Since BROOKS became aware that we had discovered his little game, he
has not stopped with his efforts to smear me and continues it day in
and day out but now hides his IP ADDRESS behind a proxy address and
he uses a long string of various screen names.

About two months ago in order to get some media attention; Brooks
began a smear campaign against himself to make it look like someone
was calling him a racist. He then took that lie to the Washington
Post, Washington Blade and Washington Examiner knowing he was lying
to them. They all gave him a small story.

My concern is, since there is a record of BROOKS smearing his rivals
in past efforts and now me, I wonder what he might have in store for
other candidates that are soon to enter the race once they erect a
web page and go full blast with their campaigns.

BROOKS continues to demand a debate and when I keep on refusing it,
the very same day I refuse, the attacks on me intensify with
allegations that I am not a real candidate, that I am obstructing
real candidates to enter the race and I am denying voters a chance
to hear the candidates on the issues.

SAM BROOKS\' campaign manager is ANC Commissioner Tamela Gordon but I
do not think she is aware of what he is doing.

Of recent, SAM BROOKS is getting help in his smear campaign from one
of his former lovers Martin Austermuhle who is a writer for the blog
known as DCist. Austermuhle has always given Brooks coverage on his
blog but never offered it to Brazil, Brown and etcetera.

Three nights ago, it was placed all over the internet that SAM
BROOKS & COMPANY was behind the smear campaign and it was very
detailed. As a result of this, two blogs shut down and all went
running to delete all postings that might have been placed by BROOKS
and the some 27 alias names he has used, his partner in crime Martin
Austermuhle has panicked and become very silent.

The only reason I bring this to your attention is, I think the
candidates want a clean campaign but based upon what I have
experienced to date, BROOKS so far in his short political career
does not want that and has smeared every rival he has faced.

I believe that if we do not entertain him, he will become very upset
and the attacks will continue but he does this to get attention and
name recognition.

If you look at his website, he claims that he has already gotten
over $12k in campaign contributions which I believe is untrue unless
it is his own money or was given to him by his family.

LOOSE LIPS of the Washington City Paper has a problem with BROOKS in
that BROOKS may not in truth live in Ward 3 and more.

In sum, this is sad what he is doing and I hope all other candidates
do not become his next target and that we not give him what he wants
so badly and that is, a series of debates where Martin Austermuhle
has offered to sponsor such along with other allies of BROOKS.

This is getting way old, but I like the way the rocord continues to build.

By the way, your IT guy doesn't know jack, because I am not Sam Brooks, haven't met Sam Brooks, and don't care about Sam Brooks. I will also look forward to the Slander and Libel suits lining up against you, particularly from the people you name in your post.

Also, what are the two blogs that shut down? Please name them and provide links, as I do not believe this is true as you claim.

People who run for public office cannot sue anyone for what is said about them but anything a candidate says about you, you cannot sue him.
