Proposer (s) of Recall:
We, the undersigned, being qualified registered voters in the District of Columbia, request that the District of Columbia Board of Elections and Ethics hold a recall election, as prescribed in Charter Amendment No. 2, to Title IV of the District of Columbia Self-Government and Governmental Reorganization Act (D.C. Official Code §§1-204.111 to 1-204.115).
STATEMENT OF GROUNDS FOR RECALL OF:
Mary Cheh, Councilmember, Ward Three
We seek recall of Mary Cheh for the following reasons:
FAILS as a REPRESENTATIVE to attend community meetings, work with the ANCs, and vote constituents' wishes, effectively disenfranchising residents who elected her to office.
FAILS as a REPRESENTATIVE by supporting costly development projects that will have an adverse impact on neighborhoods stemming from an obligation to support developers who funded (illegal )(in-kind campaign contributions)) directly and through their employees her 2006 election campaign efforts and otherwise; and Accepted political contributions from the maker of a series of deadly drugs Vioxx and etcetera in exchange for sponsoring legislation mandating that voters take other drugs manufactured by Merck & Company that have not been fully tested and suspected of causing birth defects.
FAILS as a LEGISLATOR, compiling a dismal record that is void of substantive legislation.
FAILS as a LEGISLATOR, to be respectful in her treatment of constituents that have appeared before her.
FAILS in her OVERSIGHT responsibilities to transform the dysfunctional DCRA.
