The LGBT Citizen Summit is a public event for gathering and organizing views and input from LGBT residents about the priorities of District government officials in relation to city governance and administration of resources. The LGBT Citizen Summit will encourage participation from all elements of the diverse LGBT Community (e.g. race, culture, age, class).
Over the course of the day-long forum, the primary areas of discussion for the day will be divided among five issue areas:
Education challenges for students in DC public school environments
In order to place the LGBT community input within the context of existing priorities identified and ratified by other DC Citizen Summits, the LGBT Citizen Summit will use the five major priorities outlined in the District of Columbia Strategic Plan for 2003-2006 as its guide.
