Please join us on Saturday, January 10, 2004 at Dar Es Salaam Bookstore, 4000 34th St Mt. Rainier, MD at 5:00pm as we showcase Asantewaa Henry and Sylvia Dianne Beverly Patterson “ Lady Di” “Love Poet” for Poetic Beats.

Featured Poet: D. Asantewaa Henry

Awakenings was founded by D. Asantewaa Henry as an extension of her love of art in all forms and her commitment to serving artists.

Asantewaa is an artist in her own right. She is a highly sought after poet and dancer. She also has an extensive background in public health. Her goal is to use art and artistry to effect change in public and community health. As an Akan priest, Asantewaa has the spiritual foundation needed to bring about Awakenings

Vision, Dream, Reality is our motto. At Awakenings: Where Art is Born, it is our belief that every human being is given a vision for their life and that through belief in their dreams and aspirations, their vision becomes reality.
