Come join us this Sunday March 9, 2008 as we continue to explore the

history of our Northeast Washington communities--past, present, and

in years to come. Our community focus will be the Anacostia River.

Place: Woodridge Public Library

1801 Hamlin Street, NE,

Washington, DC 20018

Date: Sunday, March 9, 2008

Time: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Admission: Free and Open to All

Presentations will include:

An exploration of the history of the Anacostia River, dating from

dinosaurs to ballparks and continuing economic development efforts.

Jim Connolly, Executive Director of the Anacostia Watershed Society,

will be sharing video slides and stories of his organizations

efforts to restore the Anacostia. The Woodridge Library and the

adjacent Langdon Park are located within the Hickey Run Watershed, a

tributary of the Anacostia.

For those unable to attend this meeting, don't miss our next month's

meeting to be held from 2:00-4:00 pm on Sunday, April 13, 2008. We

will continue our investigation of the history of the Anacostia

River with a tentative boat trip along the river. A sign-up sheet

will be available at our March meeting for those interested. Tour

details will be provided later this month.

Our meetings take place the second Sunday of every month. For
