During is time out west Khalil first hand experienced the origins of the Coffee Culture. Pound Coffee will be Khalil's first venture. The store will be selling two daily Counter Culture drip coffees for service and selling a half dozen roasted coffee blends to purchase. Pound Coffee is designed to be both warm and contemporary. Khalil fell in love Counter Culture's coffee sold at a store in Georgetown. He later contacted the company and really liked their the idea of producing a "Sustainable" coffee grown on farms with high biological diversity and low chemical inputs. It conserves resources, protects the environment, produces efficiently, competes commercially and enhances the quality of life for farmers and society as a whole." Pound Coffee making their own fresh baked pastries and purchasing some from reputable local vendors. Febuary 15, 2007 will Grand Openning. There is free Wifi access, but seating is limited. Khalil is thankful for the support he is getting from the Eckington Neighborhood Community. He hopes to local residents stop by and enjoy a cup a coffee with him. Store Hours: 6 am - 5 pm Monday thru Friday 9 am - 3 pm Saturday and Sunday.
